Hi, I’m Pamela—but if you ask my manager, I’m basically every “P” word in the dictionary. He’s the one who started calling me Pakistan, Pumping Station, Prepared Mustard, Pragmatic, Pamperyoosie, Provisional, Pigmentation, Parabolic, Pennsylvania, Practicality, Pluviometer… you get the idea.
Nicknames aside, people know me as someone who’s responsible, reliable, and structured. I’m always the first one to show up—sometimes so early you’d think I had the keys to the place. Planning, organizing, following through, and being dependable is just part of who I am. My coworkers usually describe me with one line: “Do the right thing, the right way.”
My home community of Salluit means everything to me. It’s where I feel most grounded, and it’s where I’ve built strong connections that I carry with me wherever I go. I’m grateful to be respected by so many people there, not just for my work ethic but also for the way I show up for others. Salluit shaped me, and it’s a big part of why I am who I am today.
And yes, I do love volleyball—it’s my favourite sport—but more than the game itself, I love how it brings people together. Just like my community does.
After high school, I continued my studies at Collège Montmorency, just north of Montreal, where I earned my pre-university diploma. And of course, true to form, I was always early.
